The Behaviour Management Framework responds to breaches of the College’s Code of Conduct and Charter of Rights and Responsibilities, and integrates Restorative Practices alongside specific consequences for inappropriate, offensive and unsafe behaviour. This framework is to support College staff in working with students to create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
Whilst this framework aims to provide a consistent process to intervene in behavioural management, each student is acknowledged for their individual characteristics and circumstances. In particular, care is taken when considering the application of the framework for students who:
- identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander,
- have a disability,
- are from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds,
- have ongoing wellbeing or welfare concerns.
The College Wellbeing Team, Cluster Coordinators, Home Group and Subject teachers use a variety of strategies to assist in the monitoring of student wellbeing and behavioural concerns. These include:
- Internal consultation and record keeping
- Skodel (online check-in platform that supports student wellbeing)
- Contact with students and their families via SEQTA Learn and SEQTA Engage.
